The Galaxy Press is the free newsletter for the Kerr Elementary PTA. The newsletter contains articles about ongoing and upcoming PTA events, reminders, and news from our school. Kerr PTA is now accepting applications for the 25-26 Kerr PTA Board.  If you are interested in serving on the board please click  HERE.  The interest from will be open until February 23rd.

ALL DAY Spirit Night starting at 11am! Up to 20% of proceeds will go to our school for dine-in and take-out orders (mention Kerr Elementary to get credit)!

We continue our efforts to keep Allen & Kerr Beautiful through adopting our local neighborhood street to clean up around. We will have our third event on Monday, February 10th from 3-4pm! All parents, students, and teachers who would like to participate need to complete the one-time mandatory Safety Training that will be held before our event date.  Please sign-up using the link provided. In order to volunteer on any Allen ISD campus including chaperoning field trips, you must receive a cleared background check from AISD. Please follow the link to complete this as soon as possible if you haven't done so already! 

The Foundation For Allen Schools announced that it will fund 119 educational grants for the 2024-2025 school year in Allen ISD. You may have seen our Grant Winner celebration in September all over social media. These grants total $216,000 and bring the Foundation’s funding of grants to $2.1 million dollars to date. The Foundation’s Educational Grant Program provides resources for innovative, creative classroom and campus programs and projects. “Thousands of students and more than 300 teachers and staff will be involved in Foundation grants,” said Regina Taylor, Foundation Director. “These grants will impact classrooms from Pre-K to 12th grade, every curriculum area, and every Allen campus.” Teachers and staff submitted 189 applications; 62% were awarded funding. Individuals and businesses can support the grant program through their donations and may even qualify to have a grant named in their honor. We are excited to announce that our Kerr PTA members can receive a 10% discount at Mathnasium in Allen!!! Mathnasium has worked with Kerr PTA for years to make our STEAM nights a success! We are excited for this opportunity for our Kerr PTA families!

It's easy to do - just visit our website and go to My Account>Calendar Subscriptions. Select the calendars you'd like to subscribe to - PTA events like movie nights, bookfair and funfest will automatically update to your calendar. You can also subscribe to the school calendar to update your calendar with school holidays, parent/teacher conferences, etc!
