The Galaxy Press is the free newsletter for the Kerr Elementary PTA. The newsletter contains articles about ongoing and upcoming PTA events, reminders, and news from our school. STEM PROGRAMS Funded by PTA!

PTA has some AMAZING in-school STEM programs planned for our Kerr Comets! These type of programs are only made possible through fundraising from our community! These things can’t happen without YOUR support.

Through our Raise Craze campaign, we fund our entire YEAR. We have currently raised $12,000 out of $30,000 needed for the year.

Help us continue to bring programs and enrichment activities like these to our Kerr community!

Walk & Bike to School Day October 4th

Kerr Elementary is participating in Walk & Bike to School Dayon morning ofWednesday, October 4th! We encourage all students and families to join!

Fall Family Night October 27th

Kerr PTA would like to invite you for our Fall Family Night on October 27th. We will have our book fair preview followed by Trunk O Treat in the parking lot. Join us for a free screening of "Scoob" ! Bring your own dinner or purchase something from La Gran Empanada food truck! We would love volunteers to help make this event a success.

Please note:

No cash sales during book fair Fall Family Night (only credit/debit).

Food will be available for PURCHASE from La Gran Empanada from 5PM-8PM.

Kerr Culture Share is on Tuesday November 28th from 6-8pm.

Joining PTA supports academic programs, family events and so much more! The PTA works with school administration and staff, community leaders, and other parents on behalf of our kids. Being involved in your child's school matters and it makes a difference! Join us on this journey.

Open Positions: VP of Membership & Community Relations Chair

Looking to make a difference in our school community? Kerr PTA is looking to fill two board positions: VP of Membership & Community Relations Chair.

VP of Membership

Duties of this role include:

Be responsible for all campaigns for Kerr Elementary PTA membership.
Maintain membership records and report records to Texas PTA.
Arrange for membership meeting catering, budget permitting.

Community Relations Chair

Duties of this role include:

Serve as relationship manager for all corporate programs and local business fundraisers (spirit nights, etc)
Attend PTA board meetings (4 per year).
Work to supply students in need with clothes, foods, etc via donations and direct purchases.

PTA Reflections Contest

Kerr Elementary PTA Reflections Contest (Deadline to submit Oct 27)

All students are encouraged to submit original works of art in the following categories to represent the them of I am Hopeful Because:

-Dance Choreography

-Film Production

-Literature

-Music Composition

-Photography

-Visual Arts

*Special Artist Division for students who identify as having a disability

**At least one member of the household must be a member of the Kerr PTA to participate**

Volunteering on Campus

Immediate Needs

*We are currently in need of additional copy helpers for our wonderful teachers! Copy helpers do not need to make copies for their child's grade level, they can make them for other grades as well.
