The Galaxy Press is the free newsletter for the Kerr Elementary PTA. The newsletter contains articles about ongoing and upcoming PTA events, reminders, and news from our school. •  Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th Grade is on Wednesday, 12/17/25 at 1:45-2:30pm. 
• 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th grade will be on Thursday, 12/18/25 at 1:45-2:30pm. 

You can still donate to our class party fund here.

Does your child like science? Does he/she like experiments? Does he/she like putting together projects? Then the science fair is for your child! Open to 1st through 6th grade students!  Please complete this informational form if you are interested in participating in the science fair this year (2025-2026). This form is due by Friday, November 21st. The project is due to Ms. Tran (room 110) no later than Monday, December 15, 2025.

Start the holiday season off right, choose between a non-competitive FUN RUN, TIMED 5K, or UNTIMED 5K. This event is perfect for all ages and family members.  

After the race stick around for the annual tree lighting and holiday festival including Santa, light-up displays, crafts, food, trucks, entertainment and much more.

Want to help out each week, however you don't know what you could do? We have the perfect solution. We are looking for parents to help make copies for the teachers. This simple act makes a BIG difference. Come make copies for 30 minutes or stay a bit longer. We will take any support you are able to give. If you have questions or would like more information, please reach out to julie.spielman@allenisd.org and she will find a time to get you trained.

Joining PTA supports academic programs, family events and so much more! The PTA works with school administration and staff, community leaders, and other parents on behalf of our kids. Being involved in your child's school matters and it makes a difference! Join us on this journey. 

BONUS! Did you know that becoming a PTA member also grants you access to our member directory? If a family has opted in to share information, parents can view emails and contact information for their student's classmates. A great way to organize playdates and fun with your student's friends!

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY

In order to volunteer on any Allen ISD campus including chaperoning field trips, you must receive a cleared background check from AISD. This must be done once a year, and each cleared background check runs from July to the following June. Please follow the link to complete this as soon as possible if you haven't done so already! 

We are excited to announce that our Kerr PTA members can receive a 10% discount at Mathnasium in Allen!!! Mathnasium has worked with Kerr PTA for years to make our STEAM nights a success! We are excited for this opportunity for our Kerr PTA families!

Don't miss an important event or school annoucement! Subscribe to our PTA calendar for flawless integration into your Google calendar or iCal. It's easy to do - just visit our website and go to My Account>Calendar Subscriptions. Select the calendars you'd like to subscribe to - PTA events like movie nights, bookfair and funfest will automatically update to your calendar. You can also subscribe to the school calendar to update your calendar with school holidays, parent/teacher conferences, etc!
