Dear Kerr Elementary PTA Families,

Welcome to the new school year! I’m honored to serve as your 2025-2026 Kerr PTA President. My name is Les Lewis-Wilson, and my family and I have been proud members of the Kerr community since my daughter Maddy began kindergarten six years ago. Over that time, I’ve enjoyed volunteering, serving on the board, and supporting our wonderful teachers, families, and the entire Kerr community.

By day, I work in IT, but one of my greatest joys is working alongside all of you to make this school year fun and enriching. The PTA is here to serve as a bridge between families and the school, to support our children’s educational experiences, and to build a strong, caring community.

I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to our returning families and a warm welcome to those who are new to Kerr. We have a fantastic year ahead! I also want to give a big shoutout of thanks to our dedicated board members, our amazing teachers, and the entire school administration for all the support and hard work they do. And of course, thank you, parents, for being such a positive village for our kids.

Join us for our first membership meeting on September 10, 2025. Doors open at 5 PM with pizza and cookies available while supplies last. The meeting starts at 5:30 PM, followed by a fun trivia night at 6 PM. It’s a great opportunity to meet everyone and start the year on a high note.

Join us on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 5:00-6:00PM for our annual “Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night! Come and learn about Kerr’s WATCH D.O.G.S® (Dads of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S® is an innovative program being used by schools across America to positively impact students’ lives through committed involvement of fathers and father-figures on the school campus.Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and provide an extra set of eyes and ears. Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads, and adult brothers... this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.

Joining PTA supports academic programs, family events and so much more! The PTA works with school administration and staff, community leaders, and other parents on behalf of our kids. Being involved in your child's school matters and it makes a difference! Join us on this journey. 

BONUS! Did you know that becoming a PTA member also grants you access to our member directory? If a family has opted in to share information, parents can view emails and contact information for their student's classmates. A great way to organize playdates and fun with your student's friends!

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY

In order to volunteer on any Allen ISD campus including chaperoning field trips, you must receive a cleared background check from AISD. This must be done once a year, and each cleared background check runs from July to the following June. Please follow the link to complete this as soon as possible if you haven't done so already! 

We are excited to announce that our Kerr PTA members can receive a 10% discount at Mathnasium in Allen!!! Mathnasium has worked with Kerr PTA for years to make our STEAM nights a success! We are excited for this opportunity for our Kerr PTA families!

Don't miss an important event or school annoucement! Subscribe to our PTA calendar for flawless integration into your Google calendar or iCal. It's easy to do - just visit our website and go to My Account>Calendar Subscriptions. Select the calendars you'd like to subscribe to - PTA events like movie nights, bookfair and funfest will automatically update to your calendar. You can also subscribe to the school calendar to update your calendar with school holidays, parent/teacher conferences, etc!
