The Galaxy Press is the free newsletter for the Kerr Elementary PTA. The newsletter contains articles about ongoing and upcoming PTA events, reminders, and news from our school. We invite Kerr students to join us at 5:30pm in the Library for Pajama reading with Allen PALS! Parents/guardians, please attend our PTA meeting from 5:45pm-6:15pm in the Kerr Cafeteria. Your students will rejoin you in the Kerr Cafeteria at 6:15pm for cookies and a very special story time with Mrs. 'Happy' Halpin!

TAX FREE SALE:November 14, 2023. At our previous membership meeting we designated November 14, 2023 as our tax-free day. We will be selling our surplus grade-level shirts at the meeting. Supplies are limited and we do NOT have any additional 6th grade shirts for sale. 

PTA has some AMAZING in-school STEM programs planned for our Kerr Comets! These type of programs are only made possible through fundraising from our community! These things can’t happen without YOUR support. 

Kerr Culture Share is Tuesday November 28th from 6-8pm.

Is your family interested in participating in 'Culture Café', 'Tour Around the World' poster presentations or Student Performances? Sign-up TODAY!

So far we have 2/10 students signed up for performances, and 11 countries represented in the 'Tour Around the World'. We are still looking for about 10 more families to join our poster presentation! Countries still needing representation include (but are not limited to): Canada, Puerto Rico, Peru, Mexico, China, Australia, Scotland, Italy, Iran, Thailand, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Ireland, Sri Lanka, & Brazil.

Kerr PTA and Kerr Elementary are excited to partner again to provide our annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday, December 5th from 6pm-7:30pm. As an officially enrolled school with the Scripps National Spelling Bee, the Kerr Spelling Bee is an exciting tradition and a wonderful opportunity for our student spellers to compete on the local and possibly the national level. 

Interested in having your student participate? Great! Any Kerr student in Kindergarten-Sixth grade may try out for the Kerr Spelling Bee. Kerr is selling yearbooks! The deadline to order is November 10th. Once this deadline passes, the price will increase. Yearbooks are sold by the school. For additional inquires, please contact the front office.

Interested in volunteering at Kerr Elementary or another Allen ISD school this year? Be sure to complete your required background check! Background checks take up to 2 weeks to complete.
