Kerr Family Math Night: December 4

Kerr students and their families are invited to an evening of math games, treats and prizes! Our local
Mathnasium franchise will be at the school to host math games for all grade levels.
Come show off your math skills, grab a cookie and enter to win prizes! This free event will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 6:30-7:45pm in the Kerr Cafeteria. No RSVP required. Hope to see you there!
Job Opportunity at Kerr Elementary
We’re on the hunt for someone to join our Kerr family! Applicants must be positive, upbeat and willing to assist students in the cafeteria. The hours will be Monday through Friday, 10:45am-1:15pm.

Kindergarten Gifted and Talented Assessment
AISD Gifted and Talented and Assessment Department will be coordinating upcoming Kindergarten Phase I (aptitude) testing at Kerr Elementary. This test will be administered in small groups to all AISD Kindergarten students. Please view the informational letter via Skyward Family Access sent Nov. 8.
Testing will take place at Kerr Elementary during the mornings blocks on Dec. 3, 4 and 5. Please make every effort to have your child at school promptly and avoid doctor appointments on these days. Students do not need to practice or prepare for testing, other than a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.
Scores will be sent out via Skyward on Jan. 17, 2020.
Comet Craze Grand Prize
Our school wide Comet Craze GRAND prize... the Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course will be at Kerr during P.E. on Wednesday, Dec. 4!
Volunteer shifts are available throughout the day.
Rudolph Run: December 7
The 2019 Rudolph Run and Donner Dash will occur on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019!
Registration continues online.
Kerr students who register are invited to our hot cocoa & fruit party Friday, Dec. 6 AND get to throw a pie at Coach Yost, Coach Lopez or their teacher!
Spelling Bee Registration
Kerr PTA is sponsoring the Scripps National Spelling Bee again this year! Participation in the Spelling Bee helps students increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop word usage.
All students are invited toregister(at the bottom of the open forms page)by Nov. 23. Once registration closes, parents will receive an email with additional information on how to prepare, schedule and next steps.
Comet Craze: Planning for the Future
Comet Craze was a huge success! If you had a great time participating in this event and would like help next year, we have openings for the following Comet Craze Committee roles:
Publicity: Design and distribute promotional materials for the event!
Prize Patrol: Bring smiles as you prepare and deliver prizes to the students who’ve earned them!
Race Day: Plan the grand finale to our two week campaign!
Being part of this event is extremely rewarding!Not only does it raise money to do wonderful things for our school, but the kiddos truly have a great time and look forward to it weeks ahead of time.
Planning for next year will begin after the holidays!
