It's the Season for Comet Craziness!
Comet Craze 2019 begins Friday, September 20! This is the primary fundraiser for Kerr PTA and a spiritraiser for the entire Kerr Community. Learn more about Comet Craze and how you can support Kerr while your Comets earn prizes at the individual, classroom, and school-wide levels. The campaign concludes on October 4th with our 3rd Annual Comet Craze 1 Mile Run! Check your child's folder tomorrow for Comet Craze materials.
Volunteers are needed! If you don't plan to run with your child, sign up to help with race day activities. To sign up login to kerrcometspta.org and visit the Open Forms page. Sign ups open Friday afternoon!

Allen Fire Department Bookmark & Poster Contest
Fire Safety School Week: October 6-12
The Allen Fire Department is hosting a Bookmark & Poster Contest as part of Fire Prevention Week! Kerr students are invited to participate. Bookmark and poster entries are due to the school office by Friday, September 27.
Entries will be judged by Allen Fire Department personnel!
There will be 2 winning entries per school. Some Fire Prevention Week contest winners’ entries will be on display at the Allen Library beginning the first week in October. Each winning entry will receive a RIDE 2 SCHOOL on an AllenFD apparatus, trophy, and a goody bag!
Reception for Mrs. Jackson: September 26
Please join us next Thursday evening for some sweets and treats as we welcome Mrs. Jackson into our Kerr Family!
This event is intended to give parents the opportunity to meet Mrs. Jackson. Please keep in mind, there will be no activities for children so any in attendance must be kept close. Thank you for your understanding.

Volunteer Training: September 20
If you are new to Kerr, or just new to volunteering, please join us on September 20 to hear all the ways you can help our school and faculty! Please register to volunteer on our website to receive details about this lunch. Also note that background checks must be completed before you are allowed to volunteer! Fill out your volunteer application with AISD online.
Box Tops Fall Challenge
From now through Oct. 25th the class in each grade level with the highest Box Top submission will earn exclusive bragging rights, an amazing trophy to decorate their classroom, and an EXTRA RECESS!
Send in clipped Box Tops to your teacher OR scan your receipts in the Box Tops app, put the teacher name under "Give Credit". You can go back to do this for previous scans as well!

Calling all Kerr Dads: Join the Watch D.O.G.S.
Watch D.O.G.S. is a national program that encourages fathers to volunteer in our schools. These awesome dads volunteer for a day at Kerr, assist with various duties around the school and spend time with their children throughout the day.
The Kerr community loves our Watch D.O.G.S.!

Allen Early Childhood PTA Open House: September 26
The Allen Early Childhood PTA is a network of families with
children ages birth to kindergarten who find community and
support through events together. They are hosting an open house September 26 from 10am-12pm at Creekwood UMC(261 Country Club Rd, 75002). This is FREE event for children ages 0-5 and their siblings. Click here for more details.
